To update the Sugar CRM credentials used by DemandCenter's CRM Integration:
- Before getting started, your team will need to choose/create a Sugar CRM User to be the ongoing DemandCenter CRM Integration User for your DemandCenter account. The credentials and permissions of this user will be used on an ongoing basis to allow the DemandCenter System to utilize the Sugar CRM API for the purpose of synchronizing data for Leads, Contacts, and Campaigns between both systems.
Note - To avoid potential access issues and ongoing maintenance by your team, we recommend the following configurations in Sugar CRM for the CRM Integration User (optional):
- Set the password to never expire. Every time the password expires for your CRM Integration User, you must update the Credentials held in DemandCenter. By setting the password to never expire, you can avoid this burdensome ongoing maintenance.
- Select a Dedicated User Account. By not allowing other team members to use the same credentials, there will be no confusion as to which updates were made by DemandCenter's Integration Services versus members of your team.
- Add the User to the System Admin User Profile. DemandCenter's Integration Services do not require any special administrator capabilities, but the System Admin profile ensures that there are no permission changes or conflicts that might prevent Integration Services from running successfully.
- Set the password to never expire. Every time the password expires for your CRM Integration User, you must update the Credentials held in DemandCenter. By setting the password to never expire, you can avoid this burdensome ongoing maintenance.
- If your account's CRM integration service is active, you will first need to temporarily deactivate the integration in order to edit the CRM Integration credentials.
- Go to Settings > Integration Settings > CRM Integration > Credentials.
- Enter the following information into the corresponding fields for the Sugar CRM User Account that will be used by DemandCenter's CRM Integration to access the Sugar CRM API on an ongoing basis.
- CRM Type: Choose SugarCRM.
- Username: Provide the SugarCRM User to be used for ongoing integration described in Step 2.
- Password: Provide the password for your SugarCRM User.
- URL: Provide the URL assigned to your SugarCRM account.
- Click Save to retain your changes to the integration credentials.
- Click Test to confirm that the credentials that you've entered are valid and working.
- If Step 6 shows you a confirmation message indicating that your credentials are valid, you may now reactivate integration.
