During a sync cycle, connected records between eTrigue and your CRM are updated. For each record pair that is being updated, CRM Integration will use your field mappings to determine which data should be pushed. CRM Integration will only push data for fields that are mapped.
Your account's CRM Integration mappings can be found under Settings > CRM Integration > Mappings.
How to Add a Field Mapping
- The integration must be temporarily paused before new mappings can be added.
Go to Settings > Integration Settings > Integration Parameters.
Uncheck the Integration Active checkbox. - Go to Settings > Integration Settings > CRM Integration > Mappings.
- Depending on which CRM object that you are trying to add mappings for, click on the Lead or Contact tab.
- Under the Select an eTrigue Field drop-down, select the the eTrigue field that will be mapped with your CRM field.
- Under the Select a CRM Field drop-down, select the CRM field that will be mapped with your eTrigue field.
- Under the Select a mapping drop-down, choose the direction that the data will flow between the fields your eTrigue and CRM fields:
eTrigue to CRM: Field data will flow from eTrigue to the CRM only.
CRM to eTrigue - Field data will flow from the CRM to eTrigue only.
Sync: Data from both sides can flow to one another. In the scenario where changes occur on both sides before a sync cycle, the system with the most recently modified date "wins" and will push data to the opposing system.
For example, suppose you have the following scenario:
- Suppose you have "First Name" mapped as "Sync".
- You have a prospect in eTrigue named John.
- This prospect is connected with a lead in your CRM named Johnny.
- You update (eTrigue) John's name to Johnathan at 3:37 PM.
- At nearly the same time, your colleague updates (CRM) Johnny's name to Jon at 3:40 pm.
- During the next sync cycle, the integration will change (eTrigue) John's name to Jon because the CRM side was more recently modified. i.e. An update at 3:40 PM is more recent than the update occurring at 3:37 PM.
- When finished choosing your fields and mapping direction, click Add.
- Go to Settings > Integration Settings > Integration Parameters to re-enable the CRM Integration by checking the box next to Integration Active.
