Send Alert is a Campaign Action that can be dragged into the campaign workspace for use in any campaign flow. When campaign members reach this Action, a campaign alert will be emailed to specific DemandCenter users according to rules set by the campaign creator.
A Send Alert Action will not work until you configure the Action's Properties. In Properties, you will be able to specify the Default Rule as well as additional Rules that will determine how Send Alert behaves for different qualified prospects.
With just a Default Rule configured, whenever campaign members reach Send Alert in the campaign flow, a campaign alert will be instantly sent to a specified list of eTrigue users for each campaign member that passes through the Action. After the campaign alert is sent, prospects will immediately be released from the Action to continue through the campaign flow.
To configure the Default Rule:
- Drag Send Alert into the Campaign Flow of your choice.
- Double-click to open the Action's Properties.
- Next to Send campaign alert to, select the eTrigue User(s) that will receive the campaign alert when a prospect reaches this Action:
a. Choose Prospect Owner if you would like the alert sent only to the DemandCenter user that owns the corresponding prospect.
b. Choose Users if you would like the alert sent to multiple DemandCenter Users. - Next to Alert message to use, choose the Alert Message that you would like to use as your Campaign Alert.
- When finished, click Apply.
Along with the Default Rule, you can also configure additional Rules which can dictate how the Action will behave for different groups of campaign members.
Note : When additional Rule are used, the Default Rule may be disabled by clicking on 'do the following' which will change to 'release the prospect from this action without sending an alert'.
To configure an additional Rule:
- Drag the Send Alert Action into the campaign flow of your choice.
- Double-click to open the Action's Properties.
- Click Add a Rule.
- Next to IF, click on Add Condition to choose the criteria for the Action to match on.
- Next to Send campaign alert to, select the eTrigue User(s) that will receive the campaign alert when a prospect reaches this Action:
a. Choose Prospect Owner if you would like the alert sent only to the DemandCenter user that owns the corresponding prospect.
b. Choose Users if you would like the alert sent to multiple DemandCenter Users. - Repeat steps 3-5 to configure additional Rule as needed.
- Next to Alert message to use, choose the Alert Message that you would like to use as your Campaign Alert.
- When finished, click Apply.
With additional Rules in place, campaign members that reach Send Alert will be evaluated based on their prospect details (field data and activity history) against the criteria of the Rules. The priority of the rules is highest to lowest. (i.e. The top rule is looked at first, then the second rule, the third rule, and so on until the default rule.)
There will be three outcomes:
- When a prospect matches a rule, that matching rule's configuration is applied to the prospect and then the prospect is released from the action to continue on in the campaign.
- If you have a Default Rule enabled and the prospect does not match any rules above it, then the Default Rule's configuration is applied.
- If you do NOT have a Default Rule and the prospect does not match any rules above it, then the Action immediately releases the prospect from the Action and no action is performed.
