A dynamic list retains the exact search criteria that were in place when the list was saved. As prospects are added or updated in your database with attributes that match the search criteria of the dynamic list, these prospects will automatically be added to the list. The new list members will also be automatically applied to any running campaigns or other features associated with the list. As a result of the dynamic nature of this list type, the total number of prospects in a dynamic list may change over time as prospect data changes in the database.
A static list retains the exact record IDs that matched your criteria at the time the list was saved. Static lists are the only types of list used when sending a Proof or when configuring a Test Audience for a campaign.
Static lists cannot be changed or updated with the list builder, but the Add to List Action can be used in campaigns to add new prospects to a static list.
Alternatively, users can create new static lists and make sure that their criteria includes the new prospects that they want to add.
