Background
We are excited to share the news that we will be moving DemandCenter to Amazon Web Services (AWS). In continuing our commitment to the highest level of service, we will be upgrading accounts to AWS for increased reliability, security, and performance of our application.
To help me make this move as smooth as possible, we created this resource/FAQ for you.
When will my DemandCenter account be upgraded?
Accounts will be upgraded beginning mid-August through the end of the month. Each account will have a scheduled move date.
NOTE: If you have not already done so, primary Administrators should contact success@etrigue.com or call us at 408-490-2900 to discuss your preparation and account move date. |
Will I need to do anything to prepare for this move?
Our goal is to provide the best service for our customers. With that in mind, we will be doing all the heavy lifting, but accounts will need to make a small change to their DNS record for their landing page subdomain.
How to Identify Your Account's Landing Page Subdomain
Users can identify their subdomain by going to Settings > Account Settings > Site Management. Under the listing of sites, locate the Landing Page column and look for the entry that has 'Yes'. The domain listed there is your account's landing page subdomain. An example is shown below:
During your account move, you will need to update your landing page subdomain’s A-record to point at a new IP address:
54.241.148.137
IMPORTANT: Accounts should NOT be making any (DNS) changes to their IP address at this time. The IP address is provided in advance so that you can prep/notify your IT team or DNS hosting service about the upcoming changes. |
Here is a timeline of what to expect:
First Advanced Notice: |
We will reach out to administrators with a scheduled move date. Users should keep account changes to a minimum (e.g. updating account settings, uploading images to content manager, bulk updating prospects) as they get closer to their move date. |
On the day of your update and just before your account is updated: |
We will contact you letting you know that your account will be updated. It is at this time that you will need to update your subdomain's IP address. |
During the update: |
The maintenance duration will be approximately 2 hours. During this period:
|
After the update: |
DemandCenter login access will be restored. Campaigns, scheduled summaries, real-time alerts, reports, and tracking will resume. Please note: Landing page accessibility and tracking may be delayed after your account is updated due to the DNS propagation of your subdomain's new IP address across the web. |
ADVISORY: It is recommended that users keep campaign activity to a minimum after an account has been updated. Large mail-outs should be avoided within 24 hours of an account's update. |
What if I do not change my landing page subdomain's IP address after the account has been updated?
If your landing page subdomain's A Record does not point to the new IP address, your account will experience ongoing loss of tracking data.
Along a similar note, accounts should not update their IP address before their scheduled move date. Accounts should only change their IP address on their move date AND only after we have contacted you to do so.
It is important that primary Administrators contact success@etrigue.com or call us at 408-490-2900 to discuss your preparation and account move date.
Are there any other recommendations?
Yes:
- We highly recommend that you make sure your account has the latest tracking code applied to your websites. Please refer to the following resources on how to obtain and apply the tracking code: watch video or read instructions.
- Organizations may need to plan to update their internal DNS servers to ensure that the new IP address also resolves inside their internal company networks.
- IP address whitelists should also be updated to include eTrigue's new IP addresses. IP addresses provided below in CIDR notation:
199.187.170.0/24
- SOAP API users will need to point to the new WDSL:
